Silicon Valley Women in HR...& Friends Mailing and Event Announcement

Dear Friends,

How's your year going so far?

Did you make New Year's Resolutions?  I don't make them, but I like to reflect on a regular basis about what I want to do, need to do, how I can help others, how I can prepare myself for upcoming challenges, what I want to learn.

If I don't do everything, it's okay.  I know my patterns and keep examining my life.  It seems to work for me.  What do you do?

This year, I encourage you to get out there and go to meetings, meetups, lectures, classes, or social events.  It's so easy for us to communicate via email, texting and social media, but getting to know other people in person just can't be beat.

In addition to professional workshops and meetings, I like to go to lectures and take classes.  We're fortunate to be in an area with so many offerings.  All you have to do is look around or ask others and you are sure to find something fun or interesting or both.

The HR Symposium is coming May 13!  They have been very generous to us in the past and they have extended a discount again this year.  Check the post on our discount page for details.  Meanwhile, they sent this note and I hope you have a good nominee!
Nominate and Celebrate! The HR Symposium’s nominations for the HR awards of excellence are due March 24th. Surely you’ve admired and/or experienced the leadership and achievements of a particular HR professional or team, colleague or HR business partner and have always felt that their achievements should be recognized.  Now is your opportunity to honor them.  We are accepting nominations for the HR awards of excellence ceremony at the 2014 annual HR Symposium held at the Santa Clara Convention Center on Tuesday, May 13th.  As part of our program we will be recognizing individuals or teams whose efforts have advanced initiatives and/or contributed to the betterment of the HR field.   http://hrsymposium.org/
