Last month, Jenny Vonderwerth and Christine Young led a great panel discussion about onboarding and the first 90 days of employment. There are a few handouts from the event and you can download them from our Previous Speakers' Page. Many thanks to our volunteers and panelists.
I've previously written about violence in the workplace. I feel so sick when I think about this topic. I certainly wish we lived in a safe world, where we could guarantee our children would be safe at school, that we'd be safe in a mall, at the movies, in the workplace and on the freeway, but this is just not the case.
There is a great video at http://www.federalnewsradio.com/473/2966001/DHS-funded-video-gives-tips-to-survive-a-shooter. It was produced by the Homeland Security Department. "Run, Hide, Fight" is almost 6 minutes and well worth viewing. The website has additional tips. The tips showed in the movie can be used in other situations.
In my workplace, I'm working on a new series of training modules about violence in the workplace. If you have not received or rolled out this kind of training, it's something you should consider.
